MONA

My new, all time favorite museum is hands down Hobart's MONA, Museum of Old and New Art.  This is by no means a normal museum as the property in entirety provides a comprehensive, multi-sensory experience with a vineyard, roaming livestock, adult size chessboard & teepees, wine bar, cafes, rolling green grass, a James Turrell sunrise/sunset installation, and of course expansive views of coastal Hobart itself.  This amazing museum was privately funded by local Tasmanian professional gambler, David Walsh, who created this amazing space to house his own private artwork collection for public viewing.  The actual art museum primarily lives underground in a 3 floor cave complete with interesting staircases, winding rooms, and of course a cafe/bar to settle your tootsies when you're done featuring innovative cocktails and teas to your liking.
